The Resource Unit for Supplementary and Mother-tongue Schools

The Resource Unit originated from research undertaken by the Trust for London in 1996. The research revealed that many supplementary and mother-tongue schools needed not only financial support, but also additional skills to obtain and handle funding and run classes more effectively.

The Unit became a company limited by guarantee in 1999, and a registered charity in 2000. The Resource Unit is London-based and provides advice and training for community groups running supplementary and mother tongue
