In addition to his trusteeship at CPF, Nigel also chairs The Arvon Foundation (a creative writing charity) and is a Trustee of the Almeida Theatre. He has previously been a board member of Dulwich Picture Gallery, James Allen’s Girls’ School and Camden and Islington NHS Trust. He has worked as a strategy adviser to company chief executives since 1997. His earlier career included periods as an investment banker, a civil servant in the Home Office and a regular army officer. He went to Durham University, where he read maths. Nigel has two children, both in their early twenties, and he (and intermittently they) live in Highbury. When not working, he can be found at Highbury Stadium supporting the Arsenal, out collecting contemporary art, at home struggling with an A-level or (sometimes simultaneously) watching cricket.
