Jane Wilmot has over 30 years voluntary involvement in the disability sector on equal access for disabled people, campaigning for disability discrimination and improving governance of disability organisations.
She was Chair of the Disabled Persons Transport Advisory Committee, advising Ministers on transport and built environment from 1999 to 2003 and a Trustee and Vice-Chair of RNID, the largest charity for deaf people, from 1989 to 2001.
Jane was awarded an OBE in the Queens Birthday Honours List in 1998 for services to deaf people and to transport.
